Stickers are a form of advertising that surrounds us everywhere—on illuminated signs, shop windows, cars, various packaging, and even on the floors of shopping centers. Due to this diversity, we aim to explain the topic starting from the basic technologies and materials.
CutOut vinyl
A sticker can also be the opening hours displayed on a door or window. Such stickers are cut from vinyl film using a cutting plotter. Here, one doesn’t have to limit themselves to just cutting out texts; it’s possible to create beautiful colored images. There are about 50 colors of films available. It’s important to note that vinyl films have different purposes: some are suitable for cars, others for making illuminated signs; there are also transparent stained-glass films and films designed for floor application.
Printed Stickers
If the image contains color gradients or shadows and is difficult to execute using the application technique, it can be printed on white film, cut out along the contour if necessary, and applied to the surface. We perform such work with our large-format printer. This way, for example, a photo image can be applied to a shop window. If the same image is intended to be used on a vehicle, it’s advisable to protect the print with a layer of laminating film. This protects the print from mechanical wear and fading.
Frosted Glass Effect (ETCH)
There are special decorative films with various effects, such as frosted or sandblasted glass effect (known as “ETCH film” in English). This material allows for beautiful decoration of glass surfaces and is very popular when something needs to be hidden from prying eyes but still let daylight into the room. The film comes in several colors: silver (the most popular), gold, pink, green.
"One Way Vision" Stickers
Another material worth mentioning is the perforated film One Way Vision, which can be printed on with a printer. It is used to apply advertising to shop windows, public transport windows, and other transparent surfaces. The idea is that if such a sticker is applied to a shop window and the shop is dimly lit from the inside, a full-fledged image is visible from the outside, while from the inside, the glass is almost transparent.
Floor Graphics
You can also apply stickers to the floor. It should be noted that this is a temporary solution, usually lasting 1–3 months. We always use high-quality base material (polymeric film) with permanent adhesive, which is laminated with floor laminate.
